Building your first home

Choose a place in your claim, build a Log Cabin, and understand the path to a Country Manor and personal storage.

Give your adventures a home base

Your first home gives you a place to return to between trips. Start with a Log Cabin on your own claimed ground, then work toward a Country Manor when you want an interior and personal storage.

The Log Cabin is a home travel destination. You cannot enter it. The Country Manor upgrade is the step that opens an interior with Grand Storage.

Choose where to build

Pick a place you expect to visit regularly. Think about nearby gathering spots, manageable hunting grounds, and the routes you already use.

The cabin recipe requires your own territory. If you have not established a claim in the wider world, select your character and use Light Lantern on suitable ground first. Review the materials and placement feedback in the game.

Walk to a suitable spot within your claim before starting the cabin. Follow any placement message if the site is unsuitable. The rule that a new Lantern must be outside an existing claim is different from the cabin’s requirement to be built on your claimed ground.

Gather the cabin materials

Open Crafting and inspect Log Cabin. The recipe uses 2 Wood, has no skill requirement, and requires you to remain stationary while building. It creates a building in the world rather than an item to equip.

Use Wood left from earlier gathering, or complete an available tree-chopping action and check the reward in your inventory. Keep the cabin materials separate in your plans from any Wood you still need for a Lantern or another recipe.

You can have one Log Cabin. If the game says you already own one, check Travel → My Home before trying to build another.

Build and check the result

  1. Stand at your chosen location on your territory.
  2. Open the Log Cabin recipe and review its requirements.
  3. Start building and remain in place until it finishes.
  4. Check that the cabin appears on the map, then select it and inspect its ownership and available actions.

If construction stops or is refused, read the message before trying again. A started timer is not a completed home; verify that the building exists before leaving.

Return through My Home

Open Travel and look for My Home. Use Jump to Home when you want to return, following any requirements or feedback shown by the game. If you are inside a structure, leave it before traveling home.

On arrival, check that you are back at your cabin. This is a useful first milestone even before you invest in the Manor upgrade.

Upgrade when you want an interior

The Country Manor recipe upgrades your existing Log Cabin and requires 100 Wood. It also requires your territory. Gather toward it over several trips if needed; you do not need the upgrade to start using home travel.

Approach your cabin, inspect its upgrade action, and review the Country Manor requirements. Follow the upgrade to completion, then select the Manor and choose Enter.

Inside, find the Grand Storage chest. Use it to deposit items you want to leave at home, then check that the items appear in storage and have left your carried inventory. Try withdrawing an item as well so you understand both directions before relying on storage for a longer trip.

Before changing your home location

The Relocate option in Travel moves your character to a GPS location; it does not move the building with you.

Treat changing your home site as a separate decision. Inspect your home’s available actions and read any dismantling confirmation before using it. Plan the new claim, materials, and return route first, and check the storage information shown in the game before changing an established Manor.

Your next milestone

You should now have a completed home you can find on the map and return to through Travel. If you upgraded to a Manor, practice entering, depositing and withdrawing an item, and leaving again.
